Hey heroes! Today we’re talking all about Dragon Crystals (DCs), what they are and what they’re used for, and, perhaps most importantly of all, how to earn them for free! So grab a cocoa and let’s a go go!

What Are Dragon Crystals, Anyway?

Dragon Crystals are a 100% optional microcurrency used to purchase optional cosmetics in AdventureQuest 3D. And this part is super important:

AQ3D is 100% free-to-play. You can progress all the way to max level, experience the full story, and enjoy the game without ever needing to spend Dragon Crystals.

Free-to-play means:

* No paywalls
* No pay to win
* No barriers to main story content
* No power locked behind purchases

Ever since Artix Entertainment’s founding in 2002, we have ~always~ believed in making games that are free-to-play, with the option — never ever the requirement! — to support the team, the game, and our servers through optional purchases like Dragon Crystals.

And to those heroes who do choose to support us: thank you, truly! 💖 Your support helps keep the servers running, the updates (and coffee) flowing, and the adventures coming weekly. Without you, none of this would be possible, and we are sincerely grateful!

Now for an update: AQ3D had to remove mobile ads. Why? Because ads are provided by a third-party service, and unfortunately there’s been persistent problems, including ads crashing players’ games, ads failing to award rewards, and worst of all, some ads showed inappropriate content that we have 0 control over. We’ve reached out to the ad provider but they’ve been unresponsive, and this is not just an AQ3D issue; this has been an ongoing problem for many games. Since your experience, safety, and fun comes first, we have to pull ads while we explore alternative options for earning DCs in the future. You can still enjoy all the current ways to earn free DCs from the methods listed above.

In the meantime, we’ll be gifting Dragon Crystals to ALL active players at the start of the new year as our way of saying thank you for playing AQ3D! Whether you are able to support the team through in-game purchases, or just share the game with friends & post screenshots on socials, every bit of support helps heroes discover our world.
