Trobblemania
Welcome... to TROBBLEMANIA! Look, I'll be honest, I think we should have gone with Trobble Trouble... Trouble in Trobble town... something like that, but Oishii already put in the request for the promo images, so it is what it is. Back to TROBBLEMANIA though! We've been essentially all hands on deck working on our big relaunch of AdventureQuest 3D's main campaign, but the weekly releases keep on coming. I wanted to explain the thought process behind this update and the design goal of things like this and Heroic Essence. We're building systems like this to add extra layers of rewards on top of what you're doing in-game. Most of the trobbles will drop off of anything you kill, so you'll earn them just by doing whatever it is you're currently doing. This is just another step in trying to make AdventureQuest 3D more rewarding to play, and we're always thinking of other ways to make this happen. Who knows, maybe we'll do some Frogzards and Drickens at some point. (Don't hold me to that, please ;-;) But for now... Enjoy the hunt for the trobbles, Yergen worked hard making over 100 of them. Most will be obtained via just killing random monsters as part of global loot, some will be for certain holidays, and finally some will be specific dyes or rewards from other means.

Blade of Awe Preview
The Blade of Awe is currently being worked on by our undead soul-powered super artist, Dage the Evil. When I went to Dage with the Blade of Awe, we first talked about the story of how it'd be obtained. I had a rough outline of what we were gonna do, but Dage offered some extra cherry on top type stuff that I am dying to share with you, but... it'd be spoilers. I can, however, share with you the work Dage has been doing on bringing the Blade of Awe to life. Like me, Dage has been a massive fan of Artix Entertainment games from the start, so both of us have been so eager to get some of the more classic designs in the game. You can see this with Sir Arthur Lanceler being based more off of the original knightly design he had originally, and you can absolutely see it with the version of The Blade of Awe we'll be releasing in AdventureQuest 3D (When the time is right). While I can't share with you today how you'll obtain it, I will at least say it is related to the new main story we are working on. Also, it matches the same gold as Sanrick's armor, so that's cool for all those mixed-set-masters out there!

How to (not) Make Yulgar's Inn
Yergen has been hard at work constructing a new Battleon for our story revamp, and with that comes the... probably most iconic location in all of the AdventureQuest titles - Yulgar's Inn. Yergen is amazingly talented and super creative when it comes to making these new maps, which leads to very inspired choices and designs like the image above. It's a great map, trust me, it's totally one of our best interiors, but we decided it was a bit too advanced for the homey vibes of Yulgar's Inn. Battleon shouldn't be an advanced city, it's a small town where adventurers pass through and can take a rest and relax before their next journey. However, this concept Yergen made was REALLLLY nice, so we're actually gonna be using it for that Port Town we had teased before. It'll need some changes to de-Battleon it, but I think those massive kegs of non-alcoholic beverages scream sailor! However, I do want to mention we are still updating Yulgar's Inn... but the conclusion we came to is that the layout is mostly what we want it to be already! We're gonna touch it up visually and add some additions to it. I'd like to share some of our development process on that.

So, the exterior of Yulgar's now has this blacksmithing area because Yulgar is... a blacksmith. That's really cool, he'll sell you gear suitable for the Greenguard region, and it shows where he makes it! But we also want the interior to represent this shape, so we're editing the current layout of Yulgar's Inn to reflect this.

Here you can see my really amazing artistic skills come into play. I bet even Dage is jealous! But beyond this amazing art piece's exterior lies the new floor plan for Yulgars. Red is the first floor, keeping the same basic shape with the addition of that little extension. Blue is like the balcony area + stairs, green is the Bathroom with a hallway that will lead to two bedrooms, and finally, the yellow represents 'lil doors.
Update: So I've just been informed that a work-in-progress version of the New Yulgar's has made it to live... oops!
Update 2: It got pulled

Dwarves!
We want to expand the types of characters you see in AdventureQuest 3D and have been concepting out Dwarves along with their homeland. I don't really have TO much I can say about these guys yet due to story reasons but here's a quick preview of some concepts Dage cooked up. He really took the idea I pitched of Antlers/Horns being on Dwarves and ran with it.
Clarion Has a Beard
Clarion has a beard... for maybe a week? Why? Because Oishii asked me if we were ready to roll the release to live, or if I needed to add anything else, and I thought it'd be funny to say "WAIT HOLD ON I NEED TO ADD SOMETHING DON'T ROLL YET!". So here we are.

Moglin Maker
I mentioned in a previous post we were revamping the Moglin model, but we're also expanding their capabilities and functions have them as customizable as our Human npcs. This will allow them to wear special moglin equipment like pieces of clothing and weapons to give us the ability to create moglins like we do humans. We really wanna make the non-human races in Lore just as important as the human ones and bring life to new exciting characters. These images are still a work in progress and subject to change

Forging Heroes
More concept art for important characters for our story relaunch. It's been really awesome seeing all of this stuff come to life from words on a screen to concept art to eventually getting fleshed out into full 3D models. I can't share too much about who these 3 are as they are super important to our upcoming story. But they're part of a group of 5 NPCs... So expect 2 more!

Void Star Scythe
The Void Star Scythe is in the Treasure Chests. A futuristic weapon made for harvesting kills off your foes!

New Promo Item: Azure and Viridian Star Scythes
The Azure Star Scythe will be awarded to any player who makes an upgrade purchase during the month of May. This includes not only Dragon Crystals but also any Guardian package and the Starter Bundle. Guardians will receive a variant known as the Viridian Star Scythe at no additional cost. In addition to both weapons, each promo will come with an additional house item to hang your fancy weapon off in your home. Simply head over to the Guardian Tower and speak to Fortes after finishing your Guardian initiation. A friendly reminder that all Dragon Crystal packages have a 50% bonus on them!
