Ninjas and Pirates and Bear Bobbers, oh my

Ahoy heroes! Can you believe Talk Like a Pirate Day first made landfall in the original AdventureQuest way back in 2005-ish? I even dug up an ancient Battleon Forums post (remember those?!) where Captain Rhubarb was handing out quests, sass, and sea shanties long before Twitter and Facebook were even a thing.

And if you’re as old as me (well, maybe not that old), then you might remember my first TLaPD post on the AQWorlds Design Notes! Complete with pretty pink text and excessive exclamation marks while rocking some basic brown armor before caving to the power of pink.

And now here we are in 2025, setting sail again in AdventureQuest 3D, ready to relive that nautical magic with even more pirates, ninjas, cannons, and chaos. So grab your eyepatches, unsheathe your cutlasses, and sharpen your shuriken, because it’s time to dive into all the pirate-approved scallywag shenanigans you can play right now!

Lolosia & Yokai Saga

Welcome to Lolosia, a sunny seaside town that’s basically the ultimate pirate vacay hotspot. Here you’ll meet NPC legends like Gunpowder Mary and Captain Rhubarb, smack rowdy pirates upside the noggin, and fend off giant fiends like sharks and the legendary Klawg.

The saga sets sail as you join Captain Rhubarb on the Red Betty in search of the Sea God’s Trident. But of course, nothing is ever that easy! Pesky ninjas from Yokai Isle are waiting for you. Cue Chapter 2: the Yokai Saga, where you’ll train with ninjas, earn the trust of fiery elementals like Kagu-Tsuchi, and try not to trip over your own tabbi boots.

Spoiler alert: Chapter 3 is destined to take us to Atlantis!

OMG we’re just kidding, Disney. But I couldn’t help myself — I’m caught in the riptide of nostalgia… and yup, I’m dragging you under with me 😉

3v3 Pirate Ship Siege Battle

All hands on deck! This is like pirate laser tag but with cannons and booty!! In the 3v3 Pirate Ship Siege, you and your crew hop aboard a ship, build siege weapons, and try to sink your enemies faster than they can yell “WALK THE PLANK!” Or, in my case, faster than I fail holding a plank 🏋️‍♀️

Chaos? Yar. Loot? Double yar. A Teddy Bear Bobber? Triple yaaaarrrr! It’s teamwork, strategy, and pure chaos at sea.

Winners are sent to Winner’s Island, where they can fight the Plundered Hoard monster and have a chance at getting Lost Goods.

On the other hook hand, the losing team is sent to Loser’s Island, where they encounter the Plundered Goods monster, which drops Tokens used in the Pirate Goods shop.

To embark on the Pirate Ship Siege, speak with Captain Rhubarb in Lolosia or Gunpowder Mary in Battleon to begin the high seas (and high stakes) battle!

Pirates vs. Ninjas: The Epic Saga

More controversial than pineapple on pizza, this is the eternal showdown between pirates and ninjas. Choose your side as you’re summoned to the Island of Titans.

🏴‍☠️ The Blackthorn Fleet: led by Captain Mordred Blackthorn, these pirates live wild and free, feared across the seas. After losing his only son, Mordred seeks vengeance against the Midori Kage.

🥷 The Midori Kage Clan: a secretive ninja clan that values tradition and honor. Master Kurohane answers the call to defend his people from looming calamity.

Side with the Pirates or the Ninjas, slay monsters, summon troops, and repair defenses. Unlock themed rewards — pets, travel forms, weapons, and armor — based on the side you fight for!

And the finale? Oh, you know it had to be something epic: the Doom Pirate and Doom Ninja class skins! Because everything is cooler with DOOM in front of it.

Themes of freedom vs. discipline, swashbuckling vs. stealth, eyeliner vs. facemasks… it’s a saga fit for the seven seas!

Blue Bart & Happy Fisk

If you need a break from saving the world (or are just hungry for snacks… totally relatable rn), stop by and see Blue Bart and Happy Fisk in Lolosia!

Blue Bart offers piratey quests, rowdy brawls, and sea monster skirmishes. Classic pirate behavior… and a tankard of grog that never seems to spill.
Happy Fisk is a MoistCr1TiKaL lookin’ dude who needs help designing a new menu, and afterwards grants you the ability to craft corsair cuisine like Turtle Breakfast Blend and Briny Brewed Beverage. Not exactly my cup of tea… but then again I put cayenne pepper in my coffee, so who am I to judge? 🌶️+☕️=💕

Bob-O & Azurecrest Isle (Level 50 only!!)

Oh, Bob-O, the pirate with the best boat name ever: Bob-O’s Bob-oat. In Lolosia, he’ll throw you into quests like Lolosia Brawl — but only after you’re Level 45 or higher. And once you hit Level 50, it’s time to sail to Azurecrest Isle!

Azurecrest Isle = BIG BOY CONTENT 💪 Expect hard-hitting enemies, high-level quests, and sweet gear like the Azurecrest Lance. Make sure you’re geared up, because this is where the tides really turn.

Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19th, and next week AQ3D is unleashing the TLaPD 2025 Event + Bundle! Expect spectacular new armor sets and a brand-new mount that’s so jaw-droppingly seaworthy that y’all are gonna lose your barnacles over it.
