New Features - Character Slots and Game Mode Select

Hey guys. Thank you for checking in with this week's AdventureQuest 3D Design Notes. I'm so excited to announce that we finally have character slots added to the game. That's right, you can now have multiple heroes on your account. Want to replay story content you've already finished to relive that epic moment? Want a hero of the opposite gender to see how that armor looks? Or, maybe you want to try a self-imposed challenge run. You can do that now without managing multiple emails and accounts. Free players will get 2 slots, but if you're a Guardian, you'll get access to 6 character slots in total. But, between you and me, I really think Dragon Guardians get it best, as once a Dragon Guardian is purchased on an account, that gives all current and future characters you make Dragon Guardian.

New Character Select

Here's a look at the new screen you'll see once you click or tap character select. Once here, you'll be able to create a new character. Once you finish designing your character and what their starting class is. (Remember, you can always change your starting class at any time!) You will be prompted to select a game mode.

Collections For All!

When you purchase a collection moving forward, it will be accessible across all your characters. This also includes class skins! We want to retroactively do this with older collections and skins to however, this is something that needs to be done manually. So much like Back Accessories before this is something we will be doing over time.

Saga Mode

Introducing AdventureQuest 3D's first additional game mode! "Saga Mode". Saga Mode is a way to play through AdventureQuest 3D's new story without outpacing the releases. Essentially, the level of cap for a character in Saga Mode will be locked to whatever the current chapter we are on for the rebooted saga, so for now, the level cap of a Saga Mode character is limited to 10, but by the time Greenguard is finished, it will be raised 20, so on and so on. This will not lock you out of doing older content, but you will essentially be restricted by whatever your level is. Beyond being able to experience the new AdventureQuest 3D story the way it's meant to be played, you will also unlock rewards for your whole account and have a badge on that character that honors you for being a Saga Mode character.

We will be adding a way to remove Saga Mode from a character in a future update. However, once this is done, you cannot turn it back on, and it will make that character unable to earn any more of the Saga Mode account-wide rewards.

Classic mode

The AdventureQuest 3D you know and love. This is what you've been playing all along, and nothing will be changed about it. Explore the world of lore with no restrictions on your level. Take on the toughest challenges and feel free to overlevel and dominate the new storyline as it comes out. You aren't an up-and-coming hero, you're THE Hero.

Saying Goodbye

You can still delete characters like before, but unlike before, you will have a chance to recover a character yourself from the "View Recently Deleted" button. Apparently... having to previously type in "Delete" was happening by accident a lot. Hey, I'm not here to judge, but I am here to offer you a way to recover that character you deleted by accident, or for fun, or your brother got on your account and did it. That pesky little brother.

Recovery!

Click on "View Recently Deleted". and a list of characters deleted within the last 30 days will appear, click on that character and choose "recover Character." However, you'll only have the ability to do this once per character, so be careful when deleting your created heroes!

Even Mooore Sandy Relics

We've added some fan favorite ranged weapons to Solestia's Sandy Weapon daily quest, so now you pirates and rangers aren't left out!

Battleon Guardians Update

The Battleon Guardian armor is coming along nicely! These defenders of Lore will be appearing in the updated Battleon for the new story. And don't worry... You'll be able to get your hands on their armor if you're a guardian.

Classics Revived...

I wanted to share this comparison for no reason at all... maybe it's just because I have such a soft spot for the original AdventureQuest... or maybe there's something I'm teasing about these three weapons. Who knows?
